The blackboard outside the restaurant proclaims that the kitchen is run by the ‘Qureshi family of Bukhara’. For those who aren’t that well-informed, the ‘Qureshi family’ refers to the two sons of Master Chef Imtiaz Qureshi of ITC Hotels. But don’t go in expecting a Bukhara, for what you’ll get are pale imitations of the real stuff. Vegetarians have plenty of potatoes to pick from (Tandoori Aloo, Lasooni Aloo, et al); to escape death from boredom, you can order a plate of Makai Malai Seekh. The Mutton Barra, Galauti Kebabs and Murgh Kali Mirch are equally uninspiring, but then, the prices are just right for the mall-crawler. The curry dishes come with a roti or naan, and the service is so fast that you can be done with your meal while waiting for the doors of PVR to open. It’s speed eating at its best. The food isn’t exciting; the prices are.
