The administration will also rope in social and non-government organisations for preparing software to track pregnant women.

In Gurgaon, the present sex ratio is 853 girls to 1000 boys, which is less than the entire state’s ratio of 877:1000.

Deputy commissioner PC Meena on Thursday held the first meeting of the task force. He said that the task force would meet once a month to review the implementation of laws. It will also review the progress of prosecutions launched against errant diagnostic centres or doctors and design strategies to curb female foeticide with the help of civil society and public.

Meena said that any person can approach him directly or to the ADC, or SDM or civil surgeon lodge complaint against the ultrasound centre where pre-natal sex determination is done. The informer’s would be given R21000 and his or her name would be kept confidential.
