TCS tops in market capitalisation

TCS regained top spot among Indian IT firms even though its Q3 earnings failed to meet market expectations.

The third-quarter earnings may have failed to meet market expectations, but that did not stop Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on from regaining the top position among Indian IT companies in terms of market capitalisation.

TCS shares closed at Rs 1,683.15 pushing the M-cap to Rs 80,791.2 crore, while Infosys shares, which fell sharply after a dismal Q3 resulys, traded at Rs 2,835 pulling down the market cap to Rs 76,545 crore.

TCS said its consolidated net rose marginally at Rs 753.08 crore as against Rs 713.13 crore registered during the same period a year ago.
