The TDP, during its recent three-day annual conclave 'Mahanadu', announced that it would move a no-confidence motion against the Congress government on the farmers' and other "anti-people" issues.

Reacting to this, the chief minister said his government was "strong enough" to face the no-trust motion and prove its strength.

"If the chief minister is so gutsy, let him convene a special session of the Assembly and face the no-confidence motion," TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said in a statement here today.

Yanamala wanted other Opposition parties Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Bharatiya Janata Party and YSR Congress party to come out with their stand on the no-trust motion.

"YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has been talking tall about the numbers of MLAs on his side. Why is he trembling to parade those MLAs before the Governor? Does he not have enough strength and is Jagan not protecting the Kiran Kumar government," Yanamala questioned and demanded answers from Jagan.

"Why did the Congress not seek the views of the UPA constituents so far on the contentious statehood issue and why did it not include the sensitive issue in the UPA-2 agenda," Yanamala questioned.

The TDP demanded an immediate decision from the Centre only to save Andhra Pradesh and end the impasse dogging the state for years, he pointed out.

On the proposed Jan Lokpal Bill, the TDP leader said no one, including the Prime Minister, should be exempted from the Lokpal purview. "Everyone drawing salary and other perks from public funds should be brought under Lokpal's purview," Yanamala said.
