A group of 21 MLAs belonging to Telugu Desam Party from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions met Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Hyderabad on Tuesday and requested him to accept their resignations tendered in protest against move to create Telangana state.

In all 37, TDP MLAs had resigned from the House last week in protest against the Centre’s decision to carve out Telangana state by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh.
The TDP MLAs from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions strongly oppose a separate Telangana.
Telugu Desam Legislature Party deputy leader P Ashoka Gajapati Raju led the delegation to the Speaker.
The Speaker, however, told the TDP MLAs that he would take a decision based on legal opinion.
