The owner of the famous Pappu Ki Adi tea stall at Assi Ghat is the most likely to be chosen as one of Modi’s proposers. Fifty-two-year-old Vishwanath Singh, nicknamed Pappu, owns the stall named after him.

Pre-poll analyses and poll predictions made at Pappu’s tea stall have rarely gone off the mark.

If one wants a feel the political pulse of Varanasi, Pappu’s tea stall is the perfect place to be in, locals say. Pappu Ki Adi was one of the venues Modi’s nationwide programme Chai Pe Charcha on February 12.

Local BJP leaders, however, said they would disclose the names of Modi’s proposers only after the party high command in Delhi gives its green signal.
