MEMBERS OF the Uttar Pradesh Primary Teachers Association started indefinite dharna at the Basis Shiksha Adhikari office here to protest the apathetic attitude of the Basic Education officials and various irregularities in the promotion and posting of primary and junior high school teachers.

Expressing his views at the dharna site, district unit president of the association, Bhakt Raj Ram Tripathi, said that adamant attitude of the BSA Sanjeev Kumar Singh had left no option before the teachers but to go on strike.
On the first day, the teachers of primary and junior high school of Chargawan block participated in the dharna.
Speaking on the occasion, member of the State working committee of the association Narendra Pratap Singh blamed BSA officials for creating hindrance in teaching work.
He further said that retired teachers had not got their GPF even after three months of retirement.
He called upon the teachers to maintain solidarity to mount pressure on the Education officials to for redressal of their demands.
