MEMBERS OF Uttar Pradesh Intermediate Teachers’ Association staged a demonstration at deputy director education’s office and shouted slogans against the apathetic attitude of education officials in redressing the long pending demands of the teachers. They accused that the deputy director education was delaying all the cases due to vested interest.

Expressing his views on this occasion, MLC Dr YD Singh said corruption was prevailing in the education department and officials were not implementing even the government orders regarding creation of posts and promotion. He blamed the education officials of harassing the teachers and assured that the issue would be raised in the UP Council.
Delivering his views on this occasion, former MLC Ravindra Nath Mishra criticised the insensitive attitude of the education officials and said the joint director had suspended the managing committee of Arya Kanya Inter College and Dayanand Inter College but no controller had been appointed which had created problems in clearance of salaries of the teachers for the last six months.
The office-bearers recalled that education officials had promised to distribute the appointment letters to the teachers in unaided schools from March 31 but so far no initiative had been taken in this direction. They resolved to continue their dharna till fulfilment of their demands.
Teachers leaders Markandey Singh, Harimilan Shahi, Rajkishor Mishra, Rammohan Shahi and others said teachers’ panchayat would be organised on April 10 at joint director education office and appealed to the teachers to ensure the success of the panchayat.
