Six IAS officers and six Basic Education Department officers have been nominated to the task force. They will make on-the-spot inspection between January 31 and February 2. The members of the task force will submit their report by February 6.

The group of 12 officers has been divided into 6 groups and a district has been allotted to each group. While visiting the districts, members of the task force will examine the children and inspect the cooking of meal in at least 10 schools. They will also inspect godowns from where grains are supplied for cooking mid-day meal.

The task force will also find out if the schoolteacher or any person tasted the cooked meal before serving it. They will also observe if the school administration was allowing entrance of unauthorised person in the kitchen or if left over meal was served.
