Gen Y sees India’s future green and tech bright. Doodle4Google winner envisions an India that is technically advanced and supports nature.

Gen Y sees India’s future green and tech bright. This was highlighted at India’s second Doodle4Google competition held on November 13 in Mumbai. The theme for doodlers was to design their own creative version of the Google logo on My dream for India.

The winning doodle was titled Technically and Naturally Growing India. The blueprint belongs to Akshay Raj, grade IX student from Mangalore, who was chosen out of 41 semi-finalists as the national winner.

Very excited “My doodle is about India, which is technically and naturally developed. I feel very excited to have won the award”, says the 14-year-old.

"The reason behind organising Doodle4Google competition is to encourage and celebrate creativity," says Nikhil Rungta, country marketing manager, Google India.

Other green crusaders who won included Kushi Mahender who painted a work titled Go Green Worldwide. Kolkata’s Tahera Sohail’s artwork was titled This is Green India and Chennai’s V Vinoth Kumar won a prize for his doddle My Dream for India. The Special Judges Awardees were Kolkata’s Anwesh Saha, Indore’s Nishi Bordia and Mumbai’s Sanjali Desai.

Mumbai factor
JB Petit High School’s Sanjali Desai, a proud winner from Mumbai, says, “I feel very good winning the award. I got my inspiration from the Star Trek movie. My doodle is about peace and harmony for the country and how different communities should live together.”
