The roll back of strike by the medicos has worked as a catalyst in intensifying the anti-quota stir in the country, according to students of IIT-K. “The medicos are still opposing reservation in higher studies like us and we are still working in collusion. We appreciate their decision of showing faith in the Constitution and judiciary,” said a B-Tech student of IIT-K.After mobilising people in their support here in the city, the IITians are now going to tour other cities in the State. In every city the techies will interact with school kids, especially students above class 10 and tell them about the drawbacks of reservation.

The IITians have also urged people to put ‘Bharat’ in place of their surname like members of Forum of Indians against Reservation (FIR) in IIT-K have done.
Members of the FIR will also visit coaching centres here to mobilise students preparing for competitive exams, who can stand by the IITians against the proposed quota hike.

Meanwhile, the Bar Association, the Lawyer’s Association and the Youth Lawyer’s association lent support to IIT-K students in a joint press conference on IIT-K premises on Thursday. Those who sat on hunger strike on IIT-K premises on day five included Jugesh Bharat, Shitij Bharat, Kiran Bharat, Deepti Bharat, Parv Bharat, Himanshu Bharat, Samarth Bharat, Saurabh Bharat, Luv Bharat and Swati Bharat.
