Rise in temperature is as high as seven degrees since Sunday when the lowest minimum of the season was recorded at 6.8 degrees. The maximum day temperature was also recorded at 30.9 degrees, five degrees above normal of the season.

Sagar and Indore also recorded higher minimum temperatures at 14 degrees and 12.3 degrees respectively. Comparatively, the northern parts of the State remained cold with Gwalior recording minimum of 4.5 and Khajuraho 5.0 degrees.

Director of Regional Meteorological Centre Dr D P Dubey told Hindustan Times that the sudden rise in temperature was owing to sudden change in wind pattern over the Sagar and Bhopal divisions from northeasterly to southerly direction under the influence of a temporary upper air circulation system that developed over Western MP and adjoining Gujarat.
