MOISTURE INCURSION from the Arabian Sea that is causing some clouding in parts of the State has provided some respite from the cold to many parts of the State, though North Madhya Pradesh continues to face cold wave conditions.
Temperatures that plunged on Makar Sankranti Day in the State have again risen by a degree or two, providing some relief to citizens. However, North Madhya Pradesh is still facing cold wave conditions with winds blowing in from North India.
Khajuraho continues to record minimum temperatures in the State and on the night intervening Monday and Tuesday too, a low of 4 degrees Celsius was recorded.
Gwalior is also facing dire weather with the minimum recorded at 5.5 degrees Celsius. In other parts of the State, however, minimum temperatures have risen to the level of almost 10 degrees Celsius, going up by a degree or two in most places. In the Capital, minimum temperature was recorded at 9.6 degrees Celsius, a degree above the lowest of season recorded on Sunday at 8.6 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature on Monday was 8.8 degrees Celsius. Indore and Jabalpur both recorded a minimum of 10 degrees Celsius.

{{/usCountry}}The day temperatures have also shown a rise with Bhopal recording 25.9 degrees Celsius, Indore - 21.0, Gwalior – 23.4 and Jabalpur – 24.3.
Director of Regional Meteorological Centre Dr D P Dubey said similar conditions would prevail for the coming few days, owing to moisture incursion from Arabian Sea and consequent clouding.
However, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has continued the arrangement of lighting public bonfires at prominent City spots and provision of extra blankets at the night shelters in the City.
