Tender form sold amidst security

Elaborate security arrangements were made at PWD executive engineer?s office on Tuesday, where the tender forms were to be sold for carrying out the road construction works worth Rs 3 crore. This tight security was the result of the firing incident between two groups that result in the death of two persons on October 10. Today was the last day for sale of tender form and district administration required PAC and police force. CO Cantonment was directed to camp at PWD office.

Elaborate security arrangements were made at PWD executive engineer’s office on Tuesday, where the tender forms were to be sold for carrying out the road construction works worth Rs 3 crore.

This tight security was the result of the firing incident between two groups that result in the death of two persons on October 10.

Today was the last day for sale of tender form and district administration required PAC and police force. CO Cantonment was directed to camp at PWD office.

According to sources, the department has fixed October 11 as the last date for the tender form but due to incident occurred on October 10 the sale process came to a halt.

Therefore, the last date for sale of tender form was extended to October 17. October 18 will be the last date for submitting of the forms.

Talking to mediapersons, SSP Raja Srivastav said that the police personnel were deployed at PWD office to check the entry of criminals and no one was allow to enter in the office premises except the officers and the employees.

Sources said that in last two days 341 tender forms were sold by PWD office and the contractors availed the forms without any hindrance.

Earlier, the criminals were issuing threatening to the contractor not to participate in sale of forms which has put the contractors on a tight spot.

They failed to dare to get the tender form but after tight security arrangement their confident was restored and they purchase the form.

Meanwhile, members of tender committee staged a dharna at PWD office against prevailing corruption in the department. The contractors blamed the elected representatives and officials for hand in glove in allotting the contract works to their relatives and the criminals.
