India on Saturday decided to rest Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan for the inconsequential fifth and final cricket one-dayer against Pakistan at Karachi.

The Indians, who have already clinched the series by taking an invincible 3-1 lead, had given enough indications that they would rest some of their top players for the match.

Left-arm spinner Kartik played only in the first one-day match at Peshawar while Powar, who was flown in as a replacement for the injured Harbhajan Singh will get his first opportunity to display his wares.
