Rajib Basumatary, Khundang Basumatary and Rajkumar Rabha — all in their 20s —were allegedly picked up by army personnel on night of December 21 from Narayanpur Bazar in the Bagsa district.

They were members of the Bodoland People’s Front, a political party, which rules the BTC. A protest march was carried out in Tamulpur against the arm’s brutality.

While the dead body of Rajib was recovered on Monday, Rabha survived with multiple injuries and the whereabouts of Basumatary was not known.

According to Rabha, they were taken to some isolated place where Khundang was killed the same evening. Later they were taken to some other place towards Tamulpur.
