The angry group torched two Haryana Roadways buses and pelted stones at the local police station. The mob blocked the Delhi-Alwar road for hours.

The police tried to disperse the group by using tear gas shells and firing in the air.

“We were investigating a murder case and summoned some people to the local police station for investigation. In the meantime, some anti-social elements made it a communal issue. However, we released all the people we had called after investigation,” said a police official on condition of anonymity.

The police said the situation was under control. “We had to fire in the air after the mob became unruly. Now, the situation is under control but tense,” said Yoginder Singh Nehra, SP Mewat.
