TENSION GRIPPED the Narharpur locality under Kotwali police station after some graves were found partially damaged here on Tuesday morning.
As per information, residents of Narharpur area spotted some graves partially damaged in a graveyard. After getting information, cops of the police station concerned rushed to the spot and got the damaged graves repaired.
A heavy contingent of police force was immediately deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident. Sources said some mischievous elements damaged the graves on Monday night, which was spotted by members of the minority community today in the morning.
Soon, they informed their leader Maqbool Hassan Sardar about the incident.
Later, a large number of members of the minority0 community assembled their and demanded repair of the damaged graves.
Meanwhile, members of another community also came out on the road and claimed that there was a stay order on this land, therefore no construction work should be carried out.
Cops of Kotwali police station and ADM (City) Indra Vikram Singh reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Police held talks with leaders of both the communities and pacified them. The damaged graves were repaired.
Station in-charge of Kotwali police station said the situation was under control and police force has been deployed there to meet any eventuality. “It seems that some mischievous elements had damaged the graves”, ADM (City) Indra Vikram Singh said, adding, “the damaged graves have been repaired and situation is under control.”
