Tension prevailed in Ujhani town in the district as members of a particular community blocked traffic and indulged in heavy stone pelting after recovery of meat of some animal considered unholy by them at a "mazar" on Wednesday morning.

Agitated people also damaged some vehicles, police said, adding security have been tightened in the area.
Senior police and civil officials have reached the spot and efforts were on to pursuade the people to refrain from violence, they said.
