Three months after the existence of a module recruiting youths for terror activities came to light in Kerala, police on Wednesday submitted the chargesheet in the case naming 22 persons as accused, including four ultras killed in encounters in Jammu and Kashmir.
Thirteen of the accused have been arrested.
The accused were charged under different counts including involvement in subversive and terrorist activities.
The Special Investigation Team headed by DIG TK Vinod Kumar filed the chargesheet before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate VK Rajan.
Meanwhile, the court granted bail to Abdul Jaleel, who was the first person to be arrested in the case, on the ground that police failed to file the chargesheet within three months of the arrest.
Thirteen people had been arrested in the case, including Abdul Sathar taken into custody from Hyderabad yesterday. Five persons wanted in the case are still to be traced.
Jaleel was arrested on October 19 last year based on information that some of the militants killed in encounters with security forces earlier that month were Keralites.
