In a major strike, terrorists on Sunday night killed four Hindus hours after their abduction from Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A group of 15 to 17 terrorists abducted 11 persons - nine Hindus and two Muslims - from two separate places in Basantgarh belt of Udhampur district late on Sunday afternoon. They were taken to upper reaches of the Basantgarh mountainous belt, sources said.
While two Muslims were released by the terrorists in Basantgarh Nallah, four of the nine Hindus were killed and three were still missing, they said.
A police team has rushed to the area after receiving reports of the incident, they said adding that additional armed forces have been sent to the area to launch a cordon and search operation to track down the terrorists and rescue the other abducted persons from their clutches.
