The northern region units of Shiv Sena on Wednesday appealed to party supremo Bal Thackeray to reconsider his decision to support UPA-Left Presidential nominee Pratibha Patil.

A meeting of the Sena unit chiefs of northern states, convened by northern region chief Jaibhagwan Goyal resolved to appeal to Thackeray to reconsider the decision to support Patil, a party statement said in New Delhi.

"The reasons are known to you," Goyal said refusing to elaborate on the decision.
The meeting was attended by the state unit chiefs of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
