Thar expess to resume service from Dec 23

Thar express was suspended due to floods in Monabao, Barmer and Jodhpur which submerged rail tracks.

The 'Thar Express' train connecting Munabao in Rajastan and Khokhrapar in Pakistan's Sindh province, which was suspended due to floods, would resume service from December 23.

Officials of the Pakistan Railways said their Indian counterparts have informed that the running of Thar Express would remain suspended till December 16 as restoration work is still being carried out on Munabao-Jodhpur section.

However, train operation would restart from December 23, state-run APP news agency said.

Arrangements have been made to ensure that Samjhota Express running between Lahore-Wagah-Attari cater to any extra rush of passengers due to suspension of the Thar Express.
