The Mantra magic

Saket Aggarwal had the habit of grumbling all the time. He would complain if there was a lot of sugar in his coffee; and he would complain if there was not enough sugar in it. If there was nothing to complain about, he would say, “The harvest is likely to be very poor this season.” Sri Sri Ravi Shankar writes.

When good rains would come and bring a good harvest, he would say, “Now I have ended up with a lot of hard work. I have to go and reap the harvest.”

So, as we can see in this story, not everybody feels content all the time. How can we be blissful and keep our mind peaceful? If any subject or thought gets caught in the mind, it keeps coming back and goes round and round in your mind.

If one receives 10 compliments and one insult in a single day, for most of us, the insult gets caught in our mind and continues to haunt us the whole day. So what can we do when we are filled with angry thoughts or difficult emotions? One way to pursue a peaceful mind is Mantra. Mantra means that which wins over the mind. Mantras are universal and people have been chanting them for thousands of years.

Bringing up unwanted things again and again is the nature of the mind. Worry is instability. Every time we worry, a lot of energy is drained out of the body.

In order to relieve yourself from worry, continue with your mantras and meditation. The mind becomes free of worries because Mantra has the power and a certain vibration. When it is chanted, it becomes energy and fills your consciousness. As this energy in the consciousness increases, we come back to the self, positive and fully energised.
