The first thing that comes to the minds of foodies when they think of Khan Market is Khan Chacha.
The popular rolls and kebab joint, that shut down in October, has re-opened in the same marketplace but at a different location.
For those who think it’s just another joint up for its second innings, here’s a reality check — just sample the various ‘fan’ comments on social networking websites such as Facebook, Orkut and Twitter. Fans of the place have dedicated multiple communities to it, the oldest one on Facebook having more than 15,000 members!
Member Arjun Spolia writes, “*tears of joy* (sic) It was beeeeuuuutiful to have the rolls back in our lives..! The place has changed, but the rolls are still exactly the same.. mmmmmm..... CHICKEN TIKKKKKAAA!”
Another fan, Neha Agarwal writes, “Finally the super long wait is over!” Vaibhav Maangla adds, “I was the first custmer aftr d re opening... was amazing new place ws olsoo gud... n guess wat, d quality n d rolls were more diliccious...it rocked....! (sic)” Facebook user Swati Gupta loves Khan Chacha’s vegetarian rolls. “This place is just not loved by non-vegetrians but even veggies like me love it for the amazing paneer rolls.” Nehametwaraich (sic) tweets, “Khan Chacha is back in Khan market”, and Kavita Shahi concurs, “Yippee....! KHAN CHACHA returns to khan market”.
Chandamayank can’t control her excitement, either. She tweets, “Yeyeyeyeyeyey Khan Market is re-opening at Khan Market.” Aditya Kushwaha writes on Twitter, “Kholo bhai jaldeee kholo... bohot bhoookh lag raheee hai!!!” [Open the shop fast, I’m hungry] Erstwhile loyal patrons are elated. Lawyer Nandita Mukherjee says, “I am so glad it’s back. I was just in love with its mutton seekh kebab rolls served with onions and green chutney!” MBA student Rajat Madaan adds, “Thank God it’s not a dream. Can’t wait to gorge now!”
