IT’S TIME to pay back. For all the happy meals, all the comforting words, saving you from Papa’s preaching, warm smile when you brought home a trophy or that glint in the eye when you handed her your first salary.
For all the unconditional love showered on you by mummy dearest, here’s your chance to make Mother’s Day, really her day.
“We are whipping up a savoury meal on the occasion to be served as both buffet and a la carte at our restaurants Sahib Café and Oudhiyana on Sunday, May 14,” Says deputy sales manager Hotel Taj Residency Shabahat Husain, about the hotel’s programme for the second Sunday of May that is to be celebrated all over the world as Mother’s Day.
For Rs 325 per head, one could treat one’s mom to a sumptuous lunch or dinner with multi-cuisine delicacies like paneer butter masala, exotic crepes with tomato cream sauce, stir fried vegetable with almond and some non-vegetarian dishes like gosht bhindi, grilled polo recotta and machhli ka korma. One could start with minestrone soup or aam ka panna to wash down daal ke kabab or a variety of salads and end the gastronomic sojourn with strawberry phirni, fruit kabab with mango yogurt or desi delights like mohan bhog or chhena kheer.
“The idea was to present a menu as diverse as a mother makes round the year,” says Husain, adding that there were also discounts up to 25 per cent to avail of at the hotel’s beauty parlour.
