Bahujan Samaj Party distanced itself from the concept of third front,he said.

AIADMK and TDP (CPI-m’s allies), which mooted the idea, lacked trust as they forged alliance with BJP in the past deserting their supporters, he told a press meet in Kasaragod.

Kicking-off the Congress campaign in Kerala ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Chennithala, who is leading the ‘Kerala Raksha March,´ called for returning the Congress to power at the Centre, saying his party alone could safeguard interest of all sections including the minority Muslims.

Congress was for strengthening secular forces, while the CPI-M, he alleged, was indirectly helping the BJP come back to power by attempting to weaken the Congress. The left party should clarify its stand on the BJP, he said.
