Delhi Police has arrested one more person in connection with the case of phone- tapping of Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh.
The arrested person is the associate of Bhupendra, owner of a private detective agency who was nabbed on December 30 in this connection, police sources said. With this arrest, the total number of persons apprehended has risen to three.
Police had also arrested another person identified as Kuldeep Singh, an employee of the Reliance Infocomm on January 2, who had allegedly helped Bhupendra.
According to police, Bhupendra, the owner of 'Metro Intelligence' in South Extension was allegedly tapping Amar Singh's phone on the basis of forged letters in the name of Delhi government's Home Secretary R Narayanswamy.
Delhi Police had registered a case of forgery, cheating, criminal conspiracy and other relevant sections of the Indian Telegraph Act in connection with the allegations made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav about tapping of phones of Amar Singh and other SP leaders.
