Nevertheless, the passion of this deaf and dumb boy for cricket is truly amazing. He vigorously practices the game at Sardar Patel Cricket Academy at Sardar Patel School.

Through his friend Mukul Shrivastava, Vaibhav studying in class X, gesticulated to this reporter that he wished to be a big cricketer like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, now famous for his unique batting style.

The 16-year-old specially abled boy joined Sardar Patel Cricket Academy (SPCS) a fortnight back. Although playing for the last two years, he could not practice as there was no coach available to him.

His coach Shailesh Shukla is full of praise for Vaibhav. “He is a gifted cricketer. His fighting spirit and daring attitude has made him a good cricketer,” said Shukla.

Vaibhav’s game, observes Shukla, is much better than many normal players he has coached. “He is a promising boy and if maintained the game for next two three years, he will be able to find his place in team of normal boys,” said Shukla. Shukla said he learns fast.

His mother Abha Paranjpe says “I know he has problems, but his passion for learning things and indomitable spirit makes him different and better than other boys.” Vaibhav’s father is in Police Department.
