The year of the Rooster is upon us. It begins on 9th Feb 2004.

Here are some tips for the readers of this column. The tips come early so that you can organize (or reorganize) the things whether you have consulted me in the past or not.
For some time I have not mentioned Tai Sui (the Grand Duke of Jupiter), The Three Killings and the Five Yellows in my columns as the tips came in the early part of the last year and these changes take place every year.
Tai Sui (Grand Duke of Jupiter)
The first taboo in Feng Shui is never to sit facing the Grand Duke of Jupiter.
Readers of this column will remember that I once wrote about how Saddam Husain couldn't be defeated as he was aligned with the Grand Duke's direction during the Gulf War and how he was finished when facing the Duke's direction!
In the year of Sheep (2003) the Duke was in South-South-West. US-led forces were sweeping north from Kuwait towards the oil fields in Basera and Baghdad (South- South-West). The Duke seemed on the side of US President George Bush!"
In Feng Shui, depending on the date of birth, everyone has four lucky and four unlucky directions. The directions are so distributed that people are divided in two groups: the West group and the East group.

{{/usCountry}}Like in 2003 and 2004, in 2005 too the West group has three good directions unless they take care of West, where resides the Grand Duke of Jupiter!
What is the cure?
Place a Pi Yao facing the West as a protection. It is a heavenly creature that has one horn, lion-dog face, little wings and a tail. This is the guardian angle that can save you from the assault of the Duke of Jupiter. I am preparing and energizing a special painting for placing it on the Eastern wall and you can acquire the prints from me by writing to md@mohandeep.com. Once Pi Yao is in place you do not need to worry about the threat of the Duke.
The Three Killings
Another threat is called the Three Killings. It is in the East during the year of Rooster. This can be inauspicious for the elders in the family. The best thing to do is to keep a Wooden Laughing Buddha in the East sector of the living room. This can be in addition to the regular Buddha that you may already have facing the main door.
My advice to the East group people is to sit facing East, the direction of The Three Killings in 2005. The West group may sit facing North-east as that is one of the lucky directions for this group.
The Five Yellows
Then there is the menace of the Five Yellows. It is also regarded a very negative influence in Feng Shui.
In 2005, the location of five yellows is in the Northwest part of the house. The sector in question is the Helpful Friends and Backing sector. You must hang six-rod wind chime to control its influence in this sector of your house.
Another threat that looms during 2005 is the Three Killings that sits in the East. Do not disturb the location of the Three Killings during this year with renovation and diggings. Do not sit with your back to the Three Killings without having the wind chime to control it. In offices and the business, this can cause politics and back stabbing against you.
These Feng Shui suggestions are in addition to the regular Feng Shui (Black Hat Sect and Compass School) and their placements change every year. For instance, the painting of Pi Yao on your Eastern wall will need moving to East-East-South in 2006, to East-South-South in 2007 and so on as changes the location of the Grand Duke of Jupiter. You can use the same cures, year after year.
