Three arrested in a dowry torture case

Three members of a family were arrested today by police here in connection with alleged torture of a newly-married woman for dowry.

Three members of a family were arrested on Friday by police here in connection with alleged torture of a newly-married woman for dowry.

The woman had filed a complaint alleging that she was subjected to mental and physical torture by her husband and parents-in-law for more dowry since her marriage five months ago.

Police arrested the woman's husaband and her parents-in-law and they were remanded to jail custody for two weeks.
