Working with family is something he’s especially fond of. “It is always fun to work with family because of the comfort level that accompanies it. The audience will get to see my funny side with this movie,” he says, adding, “This story will also make every father and son think about their own relationship.”

The film, which marks Dharmendra’s 50th year in the Indian film industry, is being directed by Sangeeth Sivan and will also feature Nafisa Ali and Mugdha Godse. “We approached many actresses but finally zeroed in on Nafisa and Mugdha. I liked Nafisa in Life In A Metro and Mugdha is a really beautiful girl,” he says.

But why not Hema Malini instead of Nafisa Ali? “It is too small a role for an actor of Hema’s caliber. I’m looking forward to working with her as soon as we get a suitable offer,” he says.

The film, helmed by Anil Sharma, is about professional conmen and will be shot abroad. The multi-tasker will also be seen in a pivotal role as Preity Zinta’s father in Har Pal, an emotional saga being directed by Jahnu Barua.
