The 10 terrorists who attacked Mumbai on November 26 had come to the city on this trawler.

Public prosecutor Eknath Dhammal argued that the Crime Branch wanted custody of the duo to interrogate them and find out their roles in bringing the trawler to Mumbai and to ascertain if they were involved in the killing of the crew.

Ansari’s lawyer Ejaz Naqvi counter-argued that the CB is already sharing Ansari’s custody with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He added that if custody was granted in this case, then Ansari would be further subjected to questioning by the FBI.

Ansari told court that while in the custody of the CB three foreigners, including a woman, used to interrogate him. “Teen angreezo ne puch tach ki, (Three foreigners had questioned me)” Ansari told the court.

Ansari and Ahmed had been brought to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh on December 18.
