A gun battle took place in Tangdhar sector, where the army killed the three terrorists, defence spokesman Col NN Joshi said in a statement.

The statement did not say whether the guerrillas were killed during the foiling of an infiltration bid from across the Line of Control (LoC) or they were part of a group that had succeeded in infiltrating into India.

The bodies of the slain men along with their weapons have been recovered.
