With the arrest of three persons, Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have smashed a racket of sale of fake visas for travel to Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Afghanistan.
The three accused Umar Faruq, Shahid and Wasim Ahmad, who were arrested from an East Delhi area on Saturday, allegedly used to paste fake visa/ticket of Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Afghanistan on passports after charging an amount ranging between Rs 80,000 and Rs one lakh.
On the basis of a secret information that a fake visa racket was operating in East Delhi, police apprehended Faruq and Shahid from ISBT Anand Vihar, recovering five passports on which fake visa/tickets of Saudi Arabia were pasted by the accused persons.
At their instance, one of their associates Wasim was arrested and more passports with fake visas were recovered.
The accused reportedly revealed during interrogation that they prepared fake visas with the help of one Wafa Khan who made the fake document using computer, printer and scanner.
They revealed that they had been dealing in fake visas for the last three years and were presently operating from their office in Krishna Nagar in East Delhi.
