A total of three people have been arrested by military police in connection with a video apparently showing British troops abusing Iraqi civilians, the ministry of defence said on Tuesday.

"Three individuals have been arrested in relation to the ongoing investigation by the Royal Military Police into the latest allegation of deliberate abuse," a ministry spokeswoman said.
She gave no details of where and when the latest arrests occurred, or whether they were soldiers.
The ministry said on Monday it had arrested one person in connection with the probe, later confirming that the person held was a soldier.
