Three LeT terrorists killed; arms seized in J&K

Three terrorists were gunned down in two separate encounters in Poonch and Doda districts of Jammu & Kashmir.

Three foreign terrorists were gunned down in two separate encounters with security forces in Poonch and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Police said acting on a specific information, two terrorists of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were gunned down in a joint operation with 39 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) at Kashbalan area under Mendhar police station.

One of the slain terrorists was later identified as Saifur Rehman while the other is yet to be identified. Both were Pakistani nationals and residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Two AK 56 assault rifles, six magazines, one chinese pistol, one GPS, one satellite phone and one radio were seized from their possession.

In another encounter at Manthori near Doda city, another LeT terrorist, identified as Abu Khalid, was eliminated by security forces. One AK 56 assault rifle, two magazines, one hand grenade and one pouch were seized from his possession.

Security forces busted a hideout of terrorists at Auth galley under Thana Mandi police station in Rajouri district and recovered 35 Kg RDX, nine chinese grenades, improvised explosive devices (IED) switches and 220 AK rounds.
