Chief medical officer Dr Shantimal Singhavi said he would confirm them as dengue patients only after going through their pathology test reports.
“The malaria inspector and a medical officer have been sent to the Jagrati Hospital to examine the patients and check their reports,” he added.
Meanwhile, the District Malaria Department conducted fogging in George Town and Tagore Town areas on Sunday.

A Lakhimpur Kheri report adds: After the detection of nine dengue patients in the district, most of them from the city, the health department has stepped up preventive measures in urban and rural areas.

Chief medical officer (CMO) Dr MK Gupta told Hindustan Times that all the primary and the community health centres had been instructed to set up a control office, keeping records of suspected dengue patients and to report them to his office immediately.

Chief medical superintendent (CMS) Dr RK Mishra informed that as a precautionary measure, blood samples of all fever patients were being taken to ascertain the platelet count. Also, efforts were being made to arrange the medical kit, used in ascertaining the dengue disease, he added. He said fogging was being conducted in the city at regular intervals.
