Three persons, including an agent of Life Insurance Corporation, were killed in separate incidents in Manipur, official sources said on Tuesday.
Assam Rifles personnel shot dead an unidentified militant in an encounter at Yairipok area in Thoubal district during a search operation on Monday.
In another incident, an LIC agent identified as Chongtham Anando was abducted from a place near his house at Langol area in Imphal West district by some unidentified gunmen who later shot him dead from point blank range on Monday evening.
In yet another incident, a former militant identified as Thongbam Victor Thomson who had been leading a normal life for some years was kidnapped by some persons including a non-manipuri from his house at Phoijing area under Nambol police station in Bishenpur district on Monday evening.
The kidnappers later shot Thomson dead from point blank range, sources said adding that the motive behind the crimes was not immediately known.
