Three workers hurt in explosion at Mumbai plant

The explosion took place in the melt pipeline of ammonium nitrate phosphate plant at around 4 am

Three workers of the Rashtriya Chemical and Fertilisers company were injured in an explosion at its Chembur plant in Mumbai early on Tuesday morning, police said.

The explosion took place in the melt pipeline of ammonium nitrate phosphate plant at around 4 am, leading to a fire, they said.

The fire was brought under control after two hours and the victims were being treated at Rajawadi and RCF Hospitals, they added.

The cause of the explosion was not known and the matter was being investigated, police said.
