Thu close: Sensex sheds 14 pts

The benchmark BSE index slips into the negative zone on emergence of profit-selling by funds at higher levels.

The benchmark Sensex eased by 13.83 points at 12,380.74 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday, on emergence of profit-selling by funds at existing higher levels.

The Sensex experienced a high of 12,431.79 points during the day and a bottom at 12,340.17 points.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty declined by 7.55 points at 3571.75. Though it touched the day's high of 3589.30 and a low of 3560.75 points.
