Defying police orders, Tibetans continued with their ‘Return March To Tibet’. A hundred core marchers had been issued police notices not to leave the jurisdiction of Kangra district on Monday, said Kangra Superintendent of Police Atul Fulzele as per the central government advisory.
Five NGOs went ahead with the march that had started on Monday from Dharamsala.
After the police notice, organisers appealed to the Indian government to support the marchers, who want to go back their homeland. “I appeal to the Indian authorities to support Tibetan marchers,” said Tibetan Woman Association head B Tsering.
The organisers said the notice was probably issued after pressure from China. “We don’t think India needs to succumb to any pressure. The notice served by the police mentions that our intention to return back home is anti-China,” said Tsering, who leads the marchers.
The peace march is being seen as an attempt by the Tibetan exiles to draw international attention to the issue that has remained unresolved for 49 years.

The Kangra SP said police would take action as per law if marchers violate orders.
