Pakistan on Thursday said time had come to take the "hardest decisions" to resolve all outstanding issues with India against the backdrop of enhanced people-to-people contact, cultural and sporting ties between India and Pakistan.
"People of the two countries, artists and intellectuals have paved the way and time has come when hardest decisions can be taken to resolve all issues that remain," Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Aziz Ahmed Khan said.
Khan was inaugurating an exhibition "Transcending Borders" by Pakistani artists.
A number of school children, writers, sportspersons, intellectuals have travelled across the border bringing the two countries together. "Cricket series are no longer a mere sporting event but have become more of a carnival," Khan said.
"All this has created an environment where leaders should be encouraged to address all those tricky issues which are hurdles in the complete normalisation of relations between the two countries," he said.
About the exhibition, Khan said, "this is a manifestation of the long way we have travelled in the last two and half years."
Earlier, Secretary General, FICCI, Amit Mitra said everyone talks of buses going, planes coming but no one speaks of the brush and paint which can bring new life into the ties between the two countries.
