It’s the season of break-ups in Bollywood. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor — all seem headed toward singledom again.
What’s different is that this time it’s the women taking the call. While Katrina is ‘sick’ of boyfriend Salman’s chaotic ways, Kareena has had it with lover Saif ’s possessiveness, and Priyanka has been avoiding her recently launched boyfriend Harman’s calls.
Girls who were earlier regarded as arm candy are becoming assertive. They are no longer willing to take things lying down.
Asked if things were fine between her and Salman, Katrina said irritatedly, “Why can’t people understand that I do not want to talk about my personal life.”
However, a friend close to the couple revealed, “Katrina is focussed on her career. She doesn’t want any sort of controversy. Even on her birthday, Katrina was pleasantly surprised to learn that Salman had organised a bash for her. In fact, she had even requested Salman not to drink to ensure that nothing went wrong. But Salman just can’t manage it.”
Too much to handle
Neither can Saif, it seems, as Kareena is on the verge of announcing her freedom as well. Saif might still be besotted and flaunt his ‘Kareena’ tattoo but his possessiveness is making Kareena claustrophobic. Things came to a head when the couple fought following the kissing scene between Kareena and Sylvester Stallone (for Kambakht Ishq). This came close on the heels of a fight they had because Kareena went to watch ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapur’s Kismat Konnection.

“Kareena is still fond of Shahid, She wanted to watch the film and went with a friend. On the same evening, Saif wanted to take her out for dinner but she refused. As soon as Saif got to know about Kareena’s outing, he arrived at her hotel and the two exchanged rude words after which Saif left. These days Saif is not even talking with Amrita (Arora), who is Kareena’s close friend,” says a source from Kareena’s entourage.
Incidentally, Amrita Arora announced her break-up with Londonbased boyfriend Usman recently. No more a Love Story Trouble is also brewing between ‘just-good-friends’ Priyanka and Harman.
While Priyanka is busy wrapping up Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, Harman is trying to get over the fact that his debut film Love Story 2050 has flopped. “Harman wanted to go out for a weekend holiday but when he asked Priyanka, she refused outright. He even asked her if she wanted him to wait so both of them could go later, but Priyanka just didn’t agree,” said Harman’s friend, who refused to be named. Whatever the reason, this seems to be the beginning of the end for the three couples.
