During winters we tend to get lazy with our daily skin care, and sometimes it can result in extreme problems due to cold wind and low humidity in the atmosphere. According to skin experts, use of hot water during winters not only gives you a dry and irritated skin but can also lead to wrinkles and patches.

“It is advisable to use lukewarm water instead of hot water while washing your face or you can have a last splash of cold water to avoid the dryness,” says Meenakshi Dutt, beauty expert. “You can also use hydrating face packs to avoid a dry patchy skin,” she adds.

Add aroma oil like lavender or lemon grass to water before going in for a bath or use a home made facial scrub by mixing vitamin E oil, essential oils like tea tree or lavender oil (according to the skin type).

Face is one of the most sensitive areas of the skin, so this means we must take the right care. Avoid harsh soaps and use non-drying face wash only. “Drink lots of water and eat green leafy vegetables and seasonal fruits like carrots and oranges,” says Ekta Nigam, a dermatologist.
