Monsoon can be tough on your hair. The moisture in the air makes hair fall flat removing bounce, and makes the texture of hair `dull’.

If the dullness and lack of bounce isn’t enough, hair loss is an added ailment during the season. Because of humidity, the scalp constantly sweats and leads to itchiness and scratching leading to more hair loss. The time of year is also worst for dandruff and split-ends also along with hair loss.

Monsoon and greasiness go hand in hand

To avoid this, we go for a shampoo quite frequently which strips the required moisture from the hair leaving it dry.

Because of this the sebaceous glands overreact and produce more oil to make up for that loss. So, the hair condition goes from bad to worse. Lots of people have this misconception that oily hair doesn’t need conditioning but it does to recover the natural process of over-dryness caused by the harsh detergents in the shampoo.

Limp hair is another problem: When the hair is damp, it droops and flattens as it absorbs water and moisture. You just cannot help this condition because of high humidity levels. The only thing you can do is wash your hair frequently with a very mild shampoo along with a non-oily conditioner.

Next comes the most drastic condition during this season. Dandruff which is caused by a number of factors such as poor hairdressing habits, bad eating habits, hormonal imbalance, mental stress, fatigue, climate and heredity. Low vitality, constipation and stomach problems worsen the condition.
