In a bid to check ragging, city police today asked the colleges to follow Supreme Court's guidelines on checking the menace and warned that principals would be termed "accused" if they fail to file a complaint in case any such incident occurred in their institutes.

Speaking to reporters after holding discussions with various college principals and hostel wardens, ACP (Traffic) Shakeel Akhtar said, "If a principal fails to lodge a complaint on ragging in his/her college, he/she would also be termed as an accused."
"It is mandatory for principals to lodge complaint if there is any ragging incident in their college," he said.
Akhtar said students could SMS their ragging complains to the hotline 9500099100.
