Toddler found abandoned in Noida

A one-and-a-half year old baby girl was found abandoned near Rajnigandha Chowk in Sector 15 here. This is the third such case in the city in the past two weeks.

A one-and-a-half year old baby girl was found abandoned near Rajnigandha Chowk in Sector 15 here. This is the third such case in the city in the past two weeks.

The police spotted the baby and informed Childline, a central government programme under Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS). “We were informed by police officials about the girl. She was medically fit, but there were a few burn marks on her neck. We took her to the district hospital for a complete medical examination,” said Satyaprakash, spokesperson, Childline.

Later, she was taken to a private shelter home in Noida. “We will have a meeting with Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to decide where she should be taken. We have also informed the district magistrate,” added Satyaprakash.

This is the third case in last two weeks and fifth in the last five months in the city.
