A top Lashker-e-Toiba militant was killed in a gunbattle between security forces and ultras in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Sunday, police said.

The slain ultra, identified as Abdul Hafeez alias Nomaan, was a self-stlyed commander of the LeT, they said adding some arms and ammunition were recovered from the scene.

Acting on a tip-off that some LeT ultras were hiding in Sarwan forest belt in Kishtwar district, security forces launched an operation to flush them out.
In the ensuing gunfight, a LeT ultra was killed while others managed to escape, police said.
