Viewers didn't queue up for this England-based movie. Jimmy Sheirgill and Nandana Sen had made it a point to promote the movie aggressively. Didn't work.

Strangers opened to near empty auditoria all over. At some centres, collections were less than 10 per cent. The scenario was worse in small towns because of its English title.

Meanwhile the outcome of Dus Sanjay Gupta's Kahaniyaan and Sudhir Mishra's Khoya Khoya Chand is out.

The ticket-buying public has rejected both the films. Dus Kahaniyaan barely managed to collect 30 to 40 per cent in its first week, Khoya Khoya Chand, though appreciated by some sections of the audience, showed weaker collections than the kahaniyaan.

Aaja Nachle and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal have been reduced to a paltry number of shows.

Coming up
The trade is keeping its fingers crossed for next week's releases: Anees Bazmee's Welcome which features Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Mallika Sherawat, Nana Patekar and Feroz Khan. It is expected to attract a strong initial crowd at least, thanks to its big-name cast.
